Westlake’s Jack Skudlarczyk wins third state wrestling championship


Westlake’s Jack Skudlarczyk finished his high school wrestling career in the most theatrical way possible: with a pin.

Skudlarczyk stuck his opponent, Logan Brown of Allen, to the mat in the Class 6A 126-pound championship match Saturday at the Berry Center. He became the first Austin-area wrestler in UIL history to win three state titles.

The unprecedented victory also sealed the only undefeated season of Skudlarczyk’s career. He finished 31-0 to improve his career record to 140-4. He went 36-1 as a freshman and 45-1 as a junior, winning state titles at the end of both seasons.
